Mathieu Weemaels
My work is figurative and very often quite intimate. I work with pastels or oil painting. In my work with nudes, i represent people isolated in their own world, preys of their thoughts, of their qualms. The serie “apesanteur”, “weightlessness”is the counterpoint to my other nudes. It shows figures immersed in an imaginary space, as if they were weightless,freed and appeased.
Born in 1967, in Brussels.
I show in different places in Europe : France, Belgium, Denmark, Italy
