Preston Palmer

“My work is very immediate and spontaneous. I start with a basic composition and then introduce color, shapes, lines, texture and so on. I move these elements around, constantly adding and removing until the overall feeling that I’m trying to achieve is apparent.

There is no representational narrative. My goal is to evoke an emotional reaction and for the viewer to have some kind of visual response. The viewer is not expected to see what I see or feel what I feel, but to use the work as a source for their own individual perception.”

Preston Palmer is an Abstract Expressionist painter currently living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
