Shipping Art from Paris to the United States
The Curators works with collectors in the United States from its gallery at 20 rue Meslay in Paris. The shipping method is chosen according to the artwork’s dimensions, medium, framing, fragility and destination.
Can a painting be shipped from Paris to the United States?
Yes. Paintings and works on paper can be shipped internationally. Before purchase, the gallery can confirm the most appropriate packing method and provide practical shipping information for the individual work.
Can a canvas be shipped rolled?
In some cases, a canvas can be removed from its stretcher and shipped rolled, which can reduce the size of the package and simplify international transport. This is only considered when appropriate for the work. Other paintings are shipped stretched or framed.
What happens with framing?
The gallery can advise whether it is preferable to ship a work framed, unframed or rolled and can discuss framing options before dispatch. Collectors may also choose to frame a work locally after delivery.
What about customs and import charges?
Customs treatment, duties and taxes depend on the destination and the individual transaction. The gallery provides the shipping documentation required for the consignment; buyers should confirm any charges that may apply in their jurisdiction.
Will I receive tracking information?
Yes. When an order ships, tracking information is provided. Processing and delivery times vary according to the artwork, origin, packing requirements and destination.
Can I see more images before buying?
Yes. For remote purchases, we can provide additional photographs, details and scale or installation views when available. Contact the gallery with the title of the artwork you are considering.
