War diese Erfahrung hilfreich?
At the heart of all my work lies transition: a moment when the past still echoes whilst something new is already taking shape; a moment that about to pass, but still wants to be held onto. I work in layers, adding and removing pigments, moving them around (or cutting away the Lino, in layers too) – the process itself resembles the process of becoming, the way time works, and how our memories sometimes get lost and sometimes resurface. My multi-cultural and multi-lingual background, often relocations in the childhood and adult life have definitely influenced both the themes I explore through my work (identity, memory, time) and the way how I work. Although best known for my large scale works in pastel, I am constantly moving between different painting and drawing media, formats, subjects. I love postcards! They are a playground where I can quickly try out different things without fear or any expectations. I have several ongoing postcard-sized series: drawings of my own hands from life, "Postcards from ..." (painted or drawn snapshots of places and people), and series of postcard-sized portraits and self-portraits, done mostly from life, imagination and my own photo references.
