My still life paintings, inspired by my deep appreciation for beauty in antiques that show the passage of time and natural objects, are created directly from life. As a contemporary classical realist, I merge the timeless aesthetics of the old masters with a modern twist, focusing on capturing the essence of aged objects and the beauty of natural elements in my compositions. Painting directly from life adds an immediate and authentic atmosphere to my work, infusing each piece with a sense of vitality and realism. Drawing inspiration from everyday objects and the organic world around me, I choose oil paint as my preferred medium. My love for rich and vibrant colours leads me to meticulously layer paint, creating a luxurious and luminous effect that evokes a sense of history and the beauty found in nature's imperfections. Many of the antique objects and natural elements featured in my still life pieces are carefully selected from my personal collection or gathered from my garden , allowing me to infuse each painting with a sense of nostalgia and tranquility amidst the chaos of the modern world.
