Transforming abstract thought onto a smooth metal surface that will be covered in tar, scored with a sharp metal tool, dipped in acid, covered with tree rosin or soap or sugar or wax, dipped in more acid, and scraped and burnished into a finished piece of art is the challenge of intaglio. The process meanders from intent through mishaps into opportunity until finally arriving at wonder. Intaglio promises control yet forces a meditative and slow approach. The artist has full agency yet must surrender to the peccadillos of printmaking.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
