Emmanuel’s works are rooted in a principle of recomposition: using fragments obtained through monotype printing, he assembles imprints of plant materials—roots, seeds, or pieces of leaves—to create mosaics and collages.
Each fragment, derived from these organic materials, becomes a unique imprint—both unpredictable and spontaneous. Taken in isolation, these elements appear as scattered, chaotic shards. Yet, when recomposed into mosaics and collages, they reveal a new continuity and harmony: they form a code to be deciphered, one that each viewer will interpret through their own sensitivity.
This approach reflects a deep desire to remain connected to the living world. The materials he uses are not only tangible elements of our environment but also symbols of our deepest roots, of the primal soil that binds us to nature.
Thus, his works do not stem from an abstraction detached from reality, but from a rooted abstraction—one that carries the memory of the Living.
