Context
This image depicts the legendary jazz musician, Miles Davis. His 100th birthday was celebrated this May. In the 1940s he visited and stayed in Paris. The city offered him enthusiasm for his art and respect. It is a sharp contrast from the USA atmosphere of the era of segregation and racism.
The image is a single print from a linocut carving.
