Cette expérience a-t-elle été utile ?
Jo Gamel’s paintings bring together dream imagery, art-historical references, and symbolic objects within carefully constructed environments that move between still life, altar, and psychological landscape. In *L’Énigme des Étoiles*, *Nocturne Cosmique*, and *The Starry Sea*, celestial and aquatic forms appear as portals, apparitions, and fragments of an interior world. Shells, stars, architectural remnants, and illuminated thresholds become symbols of intuition, longing, transformation, and the unknown. Although Gamel’s work is informed by travel, art history, and experiences of living abroad, it is made in Philadelphia, a city whose layered architecture, devotional traditions, and tension between refinement and decay continue to shape her visual language. Across these works, Gamel creates spaces that feel at once intimate and expansive, where the material world opens onto myth, memory, and dream.
