Laura Serafini — Correspondances #2

The main themes of my works revolve around memory, the every day and how people shape the places in which they live, with particular interest for what remains in their absence. I look for ways to freeze time, with which I can hold on to the fleeting memories, recent and old memories alike. I enjoy working with the presence of people, often without representing them directly, with frequent references to my personal life experience. This way I can work on different sides of recollection, external, lost and faded memories and emotions like nostalgia and anxiety. I use various techniques, mostly related to printmaking, photography and drawing, all of which i use to create an ephemeral and delicate image, that recall the juxtaposition of presence and absence. There is also a strong presence of patterns in my work, that holds the visual language of the artworks together.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
