Margaryta Miskevych explores selected motifs over extended periods of time, examining their relevance within today’s visual culture. Drawing from the constant flow of images that surrounds us, she appropriates and recomposes visual fragments, using the painting process to question and reinterpret their meaning.

Her gestural paintings move between figuration and abstraction, creating pictorial spaces in which familiar and unfamiliar elements merge into fragments of a fictional reality.

A further focus of her practice is the human body. Working from nude models, she creates small-format paintings presented as postcards, exploring questions of the body, perception, and the circulation of images.
