 Lauren Bryden (UK, b.1987) is a painter and printmaker whose works reflect the intimacy of everyday life, the process of growing, changing and the desire to capture the ‘search for lost time’.

This new series created for The Curators invites the viewer into familiar interior settings to observe and be observed. Figures reclining, resting, contemplating are layered with one another in the printmaking process, in conversation with one another, ‘tête-à-tête’. This series looks to understand the principles of the gaze and act of painting and viewing figures, with dignity.
