Annika Wyatt — Correspondances #3

This series of works focuses on important aspects of local southwest Texan culture that, although well-known in the region, aren't as accessible to visitors. The first piece, "The Patron of the Passiflora" refers to a local butterfly species that lays its eggs on the stinking passionflower, a cyanide-containing, carnivorous, extravagant-looking local flower. "The Daily Cuts" represents Texas barbecue, in particular our most famous barbecue restaurant, Black's. "The Beeville Amish Auctions" is a snapshot into the tiny Texas Amish community in Beeville and their rare interactions with the general public through quarterly auctions.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
