My work of three Postcards presented for this Open Call ‘ POSTCARD ‘ are a selection of three photos from my exhibition ‘ SCULPTURAL ‘ in 2025.
Photo Titles and Year ; Postcard 1. White Folds 2024 / Postcard 2. Aluminium Bas-Relief 2024 / and Postcard 3. Red Closure 2024.
In these images, with my background as a goldsmith, my attention for form, material and texture, remains central. The focus here is on elements such as tools, materials and scenes found on construction sites, or a fragment of a building. Taken from a short distance, I capture images that otherwise would go largely unnoticed. What for most people is merely a fragment of a building site or a piece of street equipment, become compelling images in these photographs, rough or refined, in subtle or dramatic light, always with attention to colour, shape and surface.
This is an invitation to slow down and look again.
To pause at those unexpected moments when an object seems to detach itself
from its surroundings and reveal its own, autonomous beauty.
Through thoughtful framing and careful timing, the fleeting impressions go into images that appear sculptural and become artworks in themselves.
