Lara Felsing — Correspondances #3

I am excited to have come across your call for postcards. I have always loved postcards, and my partner and I have an extensive postcard collection. For this call, I have created a set of three postcards, each featuring a photograph I took during and after the two times I evacuated from my community in Edson, Alberta, Canada due to encroaching wildfires. Given the reoccurring wildfires where I live, I up-cycle items from my community and alter them to reflect the current state of the land, such as the prevalence of wildfires. The postcards are printed onto archival paper, and are hand-coloured, each an original piece of art. On the back, I have included a short message about the piece. I have selected wording on the postcards that share the sayings found on vintage postcards from the area where I live. Thank you for taking time to review my work.
