Indian Summer is Pandora Decoster’s second solo exhibition with The Curators. Developed from a road trip through California, the exhibition brings together paintings of the coast, its roads and the people moving through them.
Surfers carry their boards towards the water. Friends gather on the sand; elsewhere, a road winds through pink hills. Decoster works from observation, memory and lived experience, moving between the bright immediacy of a summer afternoon and quieter, more suspended moments.
A French painter from Biarritz and a former professional surfer, Decoster has a close relationship to coastal landscapes and changing light. Her paintings transform familiar scenes through vivid colour and a sense of movement shaped by life around the ocean.
