Was this experience helpful?
This series of pencil drawings was inspired by street style observed during Paris Fashion Week and explores the relationship between texture, movement and fashion design. Working from fleeting moments captured within the fashion landscape, I focus on the details that define a garment — the folds, patterns, silhouettes, and structural elements that give clothing its character and presence.
Drawing on my background in product development and technical garment drawing, I use line as both a descriptive and expressive tool. Repeated marks and layered textures echo the construction of the garments themselves, transforming fabric into a visual language of rhythm, movement and form. Rendered in a single, restrained tone, these works emphasise the interplay of light and shadow, contour and texture. I am interested in the space where fashion illustration moves beyond documentation and becomes an exploration of tactile experience. Through these drawings, I invite viewers to engage with fashion beyond its surface — appreciating the intricate relationship between design, materiality and the expressive potential of the drawn line.
