My postcard project, Mountains and Rivers, Wind and Moon, draws inspiration from a 1,300-year-old verse that transcended borders. The poem, embroidered on robes sent from a Japanese king to Tang Dynasty monks, speaks of a shared world despite different lands. This same message of unity resonated when the words “山川异域，风月同天” appeared on pandemic aid from Japan.

The project is a meditation on memory, inspired by the commemorative space left on Dr. Li Wen Liang’s social media. It echoes the philosophical influence of artist On Kawara, who used postcards and telegrams to circulate "pure information" and affirm existence. Following his example, I use the postal service not just for delivery, but as a central element of the work.

By sending postcards, each bearing the date of Dr. Li's passing, I invite recipients into a conversation that surpasses time and geography. The physical journey of these cards, from sender to receiver and back again, creates a circulation that keeps an important event and its memory alive.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
