Sometimes I begin by sketching forms; at other times I move straight to cutting. What ultimately draws me in are the spaces that emerge in between the negative shapes that were never planned. It is in these moments of surprise, where intention gives way to discovery, that the work feels most alive. I am drawn to the minimal, calm, space, the elegance of simple shapes.
