Étienne Boissier, born in 1981, lives and works in Paris. His work is inspired by his immediate environment, blending both realism and expressionism.

He explores themes that are autobiographical, ironic, and dark. The streets of Paris drive him to create raw, powerful works full of empathy and rage.

Originally a graphic designer in the music and nightlife scene, he decided in 2008 to focus primarily on painting. His artistic influences include Edward Munch, Vincent Van Gogh, Lucian Freud, Georg Baselitz, Balthus, Alice Neel, and Julian Schnabel.

Since then, Boissier has continued to produce deeply personal paintings that reflect his impressions of the contemporary urban world, often with a sharp, critical eye.

His figurative painting, inspired by everyday life and executed with a realist style tinged with expressionism, revolves around the concept of "Social Figuration."
