Valentine Benoist — Correspondances #2

Based between Brittany and East London, I create sculptural ceramic objects

using stoneware and materials foraged along the Breton coastline — granite

fragments, coastal sand, seaweed ash, sea debris and more. These elements,

collected in situ, anchor each piece in a place and a time.

Working between vessel, sculpture and spatial object, my practice explores how matter carries memory. Imprints taken directly from rock formations, inclusions

gathered at the tide line, and traces of organic material form a vocabulary that moves across scales, from collectible pieces to architectural applications.

Each work is anchored in a specific place and moment, translating the landscape into objects designed to inhabit space.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
