PATHOLOGIES OF REALITY (2024-2026) Pathologies of Reality is a series of altered tourist postcards exploring the gradual distortion of perception
Tourist postcards promise an objective image of a place. Through collage, fragments of text, and visual interruptions, these familiar images become studies of the mechanisms that obstruct perception rather than reality itself.
Memory leaves omissions. Fear narrows attention. Desire idealises. Social expectations, advertising, news, and inherited narratives overlay the world with ready-made meanings. None of these processes alters reality. They simply conceal parts of it from view.
Each postcard represents a different pathology of perception, where fragments of the visible world disappear beneath accumulated layers of memory, language, emotion, and ideology. Reality remains whole and unchanged. What becomes fragmented is our ability to see it.
