Meredith Donnachie — Correspondances #2

My first postcard is made on a found tourist postcard. Using elements of the original object and with added layered acrylic paint and collage, it pays homage to Scotland, my found home. My second and third postcards are handmade entirely, both textual acrylic works that use my own writing. Like with a lot of my work, the postcards have a kitschy, deliberately handmade feel. I prefer stylised forms and vivid colours over realism. I am inspired by the work of Tracey Emin, Leonora Carrington, Raymond Pettibon, Edvard Munch, and Nellie Mae Rowe.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
