Claudia Wieland — Correspondances #1

On my postcard I combined old and current portraits of my hometown Essen wich has become a symbol of the structural change in industrial metropoles. The coalmine ZOLLVEREIN (built in 1851) today is a UN world heritage site and, in addition to various museums, is home to the Folkwang University of the Arts and many cultural venues. With my postcard, I want to show how the past helps shape our present and, at the same time, can give rise to something entirely new that enriches our lives. (I hope, it's okay, that I have brought my postcard on its way to you already one week ago and am only filling out the entry form and paying the fee today!

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
