Daniel Derderian — Correspondances #3

My work explores the space between social image and intimate experience. It focuses on moments of transition and transformation: the suspended present between past and future, adolescence between childhood and adulthood, gender fluidity between masculine and feminine, and the tension between the life and death drives.

Through painting and drawing, I seek to create spaces for encounters beyond appearances, where the artwork can be experienced physically and emotionally.

I leave traces of gestures and invite anyone to continue the dance.

Since 2022, I have been producing postcard editions that accompany my exhibitions. More than promotional material, they are conceived as autonomous objects that extend the life of the artworks. Each postcard brings together a constellation of images, offering a broader view of my practice while creating a tangible bridge between digital circulation and the encounter with the original works. They are also used for personal correspondence, carrying handwritten messages and signatures that allow each card to continue its journey from one person to another.

The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
