War diese Erfahrung hilfreich?
During my studies in France, I discovered the term “paysage intérieur/ inner landscape.” This termreally appealed to me. When I think of my inner landscape, I think of my childhood and the daylight I encounter in my daily life. In Japanese, there is a word, “koukei光景,” which means “scene,” and this Japanese character signifies “the sight of light.”I was also inspired by the palimpsest. I think our memory fades or becomes blurred over time, through layers of life’s moments. My childhood is a bit hazy, but sometimes the sky I see and the laughter of people I hear in France overlap with the feeling I had when I was in Japan. I paint based on the landscapes I’ve seen in France, but when I paint, I think about the experiences I had in Japan. The light I discover in my current life also evokes the light I saw when I was a child and a teenager. And I find that the beauty of light possesses something universal, just as laughter is also universal.
