I am a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, printing and installation, and socially engaged projects. Rather than focusing on a single medium, I choose the form that best suits the idea or context. My website www.ellenvanvollenhoven.nl brings together a selection of my artworks and projects, ranging from autonomous studio practice to collaborations, and artist residencies. Although the outcomes differ, they share an interest in the relationship between people, place, memory, and the subtle ways our surroundings shape how we experience the world.

I am drawn to everyday observations, overlooked stories, and temporary encounters. My work often begins with a question rather than a conclusion, inviting space for curiosity, dialogue, and multiple interpretations.
