I am delighted to submit my work for your upcoming artist call centered around postcards. For this application, I have selected three pieces that represent three distinct phases of my artistic journey, reflecting how a format I initially chose out of constraint became the foundation of my creative expression.
Artwork 1: This piece was created during the year I first discovered drawing as my primary form of expression. At the time, I created countless works in postcard format—partly due to the misconception that colored pencils were not suited for large-scale formats.
Artwork 2: This work marks the phase where I began experimenting with scale. To test its visual impact and challenge my previous boundaries, I blew this particular design up to a large format of 2x1 meters.
Artwork 3: This final piece was created on the train to Venice earlier this year. It represents my current direction, as I am currently experimenting extensively with new materials and different colors.
The postcard format remains a deeply meaningful medium for me, bridging the intimate beginnings of my practice with my current exploration of scale and material. Thank you for your time and consideration.
