Lily Bonnet

Born in 1991, Lily Bonnet is an artist based in Paris.

Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, she develops an artistic practice spanning painting, drawing, and ceramics.

Working in oil from photographs of those close to her, the starting point of her painting is an act of love. Oblique gazes, a sudden veil, still faces with oversized ears, bodies lying silently.

Through intimate scenes and tightly cropped compositions, she seeks to capture an inner life while exploring her relationship to the other, the enigmatic person before her.

Vivid and incisive, color cuts through the figures and constructs an emotional space.
