Johanna Bath

Johanna Bath (b. 1980, Warendorf, Germany) is a contemporary German painter known for her contemplative figurative works that explore themes of time, memory, and emotional transience. Working primarily with oil, acrylic, and spray paint on canvas, she creates atmospheric portraits and still lifes characterized by soft, hazy layers that evoke the fragile nature of recollection and the fleeting quality of lived moments.

Bath studied illustration and design in Hamburg, graduating from the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaft (HAW) in 2007. After briefly working in the gallery and publishing sectors, she decided to dedicate herself fully to painting.

Her work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions internationally, including shows in London, Amsterdam, New York, and Shanghai. She gained wider recognition in 2017 when she was named “One to Watch” by Saatchi Art, and her paintings are now held in private collections worldwide.

Bath currently lives and works in Hamm, Germany.
