Chen Xue, born in China in 1993, graduated in Painting in 2016 in China and later in Sculpture in 2019 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. He currently lives and works in Castellarano.

"Whenever I think or deal with my life and creation, I think of this poem. I am fascinated by what it says about the relationship between you, me and the clouds. Sometimes I am a cloud, sometimes I am you, sometimes I am myself. This seems to represent my relationship with life and creation. Sometimes we are far away and sometimes close, we look at each other, at different times and places, becoming the one who looks and the one who is looked at. This kind of relationship sometimes seems to be about the sense of time."

"Sometimes I look to the past, sometimes I look to the future, but I don't know which is closer to me and which is further away."I like this foggy philosophical atmosphere that permeates my creative process, even if sometimes this feeling is not expressed strongly through the work, because that is exactly what I am pursuing in creation. I don't want to express it out loud through creation, I just like the thing itself."

You,

you look at me one moment

and at clouds the next.

I feel

when you're looking at me, you're far away,

but when you're looking at the clouds, how could we be nearer!
