From her beginnings in the mid-90s, Eva Claessens has developed an intuitive approach to drawing and sculpting.

Eva Claessens works with models, couples in constant motion; from her sketches emerge paintings and from the former sculptures.

Her work is known for her research on intimacy and her frameless canvases, which seem to have a life of their own.

  • Born in Belgium in 1971, Eva Claessens studied at several art academies in her native province of Antwerp. At the age of 18, she moved to Florence (Italy), where she studied at the Academia Dell’Arte and worked at the art studio of Romano Stefanelli as a model and an artist.

Her work and way of life took her to the USA, Jamaica, Israel, India, Uruguay, Portugal, and France. During this time, she perfected her use of different techniques.

She has held several individual exhibitions and participated in others all across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.
