Trained at the National School of Landscape Architecture in Versailles (2009-2013), Sophie Roux-Pagès is an artist and landscape designer based in Paris. She came to painting through a hybrid project entitled Tableau à Quatre Personnages (2018-2021), composed of headdresses, costumes, drawings, and paintings. This exploration led her to questions inherent to the medium: composition, material, color, subject, gesture, and pictorial quality. Since then, through various bodies of work, Les lieux de l’art, Portraits, Le banquet (ongoing)—the question of the body has been the focal point of her work: incarnation through the act of painting.
